Roulette Payoffs

Do you know the exact payoffs you can expect when you play online roulette? Let’s take a look at the numbers and what you should look for.

The first big number when playing online roulette is European roulette vs. American roulette. The different is the single zero wheel vs. the double zero wheel. The European roulette wheel has a house edge of 2.7%. That is much better than the American wheel which has a house edge of 5.26%.

The individual payouts should be 35-1 for a single number bet, 17-1 for a split bet, 11-1 for a street bet, 8-1 for the corner bet, 6-1 for a five bet, 5-1 for a line bet, 2-1 for columns or dozens bets and even money on Red/Black, Even/Odd and High/Low.

The house edge is the same for all bets except for the first five which is both zeros and numbers 1, 2 and 3. That is a bad bet as the house edge is almost 8% on the American wheel.

The reason you need to know the payouts is that you don’t want to be playing on wheels that don’t pay the full 35 to 1 on single-number bets.

If you are playing at an online casino that offers the European wheel then you have a better chance of winning as the house edge is cut in half versus the American wheel. And with so many other choices at the online casino, you need to be playing where the house edge is less than 3%.
