Roulette Outside BetsWhen you are playing online roulette there are a number of bets you can make but the easiest ones are the outside bets. The three main ones are red/black, odd/even, or high/low. You get even money payouts on all three of these bets which make them a decent value at the online casino. In addition to the main three outside bets there are also columns or dozens bets in roulette. With the columns bet you are betting on a particular column of numbers with 12 numbers available in each column. The dozens bet gives you the choice of betting the first twelve numbers, 1-12, the second twelve, 13-24 or the last twelve, 25-36. Outside bets are very popular with players who want to try systems like the Martingale, parlay, etc. because you are betting on just one particular wager like red or black. The odds on outside bets are 2-1 since you are betting on one particular column. The house does have the edge on outside bets because of the zero and the double zero. If those two numbers didn’t exist there would be no house edge at all. In American roulette you will find that the wheel has both the zero and the double zero while European roulette wheels have just the single zero. If you can find a European roulette wheel then that is your best option since you reduce the house edge from 5.26% to 2.7%. |
