Roulette
There are two types of roulette wheels, one having a single zero
and the other having a double zero. With that in mind let’s
look at the house averages with a U.S. wheel, having a double zero.
So what are the probabilities of winning on a double zero wheel?
Red, black, odd, even, one thru 18, and 19 thru 36 with a one dollar
bet you would have a probability of hitting it at about 47.5 percent.
That means the house edge would be 5.26 percent. This is a steep
edge that is tough to overcome in the long haul. As the saying goes,
“But wait! There’s more.” 1 through 12, 13 through
24, and 25 through 36 with a two dollar bet would have the probability
of hitting at about 31.5 percent, and the house edge is….you
guessed it, 5.26 percent. This house edge can be compared to what
is known in mathematics as a constant. Other bets like Sixline numbers,
that is six numbers in a row, have the same house edge of 5.26 percent.
The goal when you play online roulette is to find a single-zero
or what is referred to as a European wheel. When you find this wheel
at online casinos you cut the edge in half because there is just
a single-zero.
Look for the single-zero wheel the next time you play roulette
at the online casino.
